I’ve known I was going to be an actor since I was five years old. My abuelita called me “el artista” and I guess she was right. My passion for storytelling and my curiosity for exploring both my inner and outer world have led me down a rewarding path.

I’m a West Coast kid at heart, born and raised in Northern California. I’m named for my uncle ‘Eddie’, my mom’s brother and one of five Irish Catholic children who made their way to the West from their family farm in Iowa. The ‘Lopez’ comes from my dad, a big-hearted Spanish Chef who made his way to the U.S. after meeting my mom in the flamenco caves of Sacromonte in my dad’s home of Granada, Spain. This familial and global dimension has shaped my worldview.

I graduated from the theater school at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in ‘07 with a BFA in Acting. During that time I had the privilege of working with influential artists such as Eric Whitacre, Nataki Garrett,  Erik Ehn, Lars Jan, Chi-Wang Yang, and Richard Foreman.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival became my artistic home when Bill Rauch invited me to join the acting company for his first season as artistic director in 2008. In my first five seasons with OSF I found my place in the outstanding repertory company which became my chosen family and my strongest team of collaborators. Some of my favorite memories from those years include playing Frederic in an inspired production of The Pirates of Penzance on the Elizabethan Stage; having an obscene amount of fun as one of the Marx Brothers in Animal Crackers; dancing and clowning in She Loves Me, directed by Rebecca Taichman, and bringing some fierce fairy magic to a rowdy production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

I took a hiatus from the repertory life of OSF in 2013 and moved to New York City. From NYC I continued to widen my horizons and grow my creative community both in the city and around the U.S. I traveled a ton: Hiking in Nepal, Meditating in India, Dancing Capoeira in Brazil. Work pulled me to Denver, Cedar City, S.F., L.A. and eventually back to OSF in 2018 for Karen Zacarias’ Destiny of Desire. Ashland became home again for a time, and then COVID. I hunkered down in the mountains and voiceover and narration became my life. I continue to work in Audiobooks and voiceover to this day.

In 2022 I made Los Angeles my home base. I enjoyed stepping into a new chapter of my creative life taking on theatrical directing opportunities, collaborating on independent films and continuing to tell stories as best I know how, as an actor.

The past few years have been a whirlwind of creative opportunity. In 2022 I was cast in the Los Angeles premiere of The Inheritance, Parts 1 & 2 at the Geffen Playhouse. This much celebrated and pivotal piece of American Drama was a profound theatrical experience. Within months following the epic run of The Inheritance in LA I found myself in New York rehearsing for the tour of the inspired revival of the INTO THE WOODS. I joined the star studded cast, understudying Tony winner Gavin Creel as well as four other tracks in the show. My favorite was the lovable scene stealer, Milky White. I also served as the touring production’s dance captain. The next 6 months took me around the country for limited engagements in D.C., Boston, Chicago, S.F., and L.A. among other cities. It was a life changing journey in every way.

When I’m not on stage, behind a microphone or in a classroom of budding theater artists, I make every effort to explore the world and all it has to offer. I feel most alive and most myself exploring new places, learning from new people and connecting my experiences as a traveler to my role as an artist and storyteller.
